EUCOM Military Defense Lawyer

Attorney Matthew Barry is an experienced EUCOM Military Defense Lawyer.

EUCOM consists of bases/units in Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Levant, Northern Europe, Southeastern Europe, Southern Europe, Southwestern Asia, Southwestern Europe, Western Europe, and NATO (interactive map at this link).

Once a less active region, EUCOM is now becoming much more active due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and conflict in Israel.  This has led to an influx of Servicemembers assigned to EUCOM.  With an influx of Servicemembers comes allegations of misconduct.  Servicemembers in EUCOM face CID investigations, OSI investigations, NCIS investigations, 15-6 investigations, Command Investigations, Command Directed Investigations, GOMORs, Article 15s, LORs/LOAs/LOCs, Separation Boards (Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps), Boards of Inquiry (Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps), Courts-Martial, and more.

Attorney Matthew Barry is an experienced EUCOM Military Defense Lawyer. After graduating from West Point in 2008, he commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer.  He served in an interrogation unit and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he Commanded the Interrogation Control Element. While in Afghanistan, he was selected to attend law school and assess into the JAG Corps.  He attended and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas, and then was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell.  At Fort Campbell, he served as a trial counsel, legal assistance attorney, and defense counsel.  Attorney Barry ultimately retired from the Army in 2019.

After retiring, he started a law firm and has since been practicing Military Law all over the world.  Attorney Barry has achieved positive results for clients of all Services and is highly rated by his former clients.

Attorney Barry will travel to anywhere in the EUCOM area of responsibility to represent clients, whether that be at a Court-Martial, Board of Inquiry, Separation Board, or some other proceeding.

Any Servicemember accused of misconduct should immediately recognize that his/her career is in jeopardy. While uniformed JAGs are available to assist, they are often over-worked, inexperienced, and unwilling/unable to do what it takes to win. Servicemembers can, and should, retain outside counsel to assist. This allows a Servicemember to be represented by an Attorney of his/her selection. Servicemembers should select an Attorney with experience, a proven track record of success, and one who is highly rated by their former clients.

Attorney Barry has traveled all over the world, including Europe, to defense Servicemembers accused of misconduct.
